PLEASE REMEMBER: This is general accommodation information and should only be used as a basic guide to the options we offer. Accommodation standards vary upon country, for example a host family in Germany will be very different to a family in Bolivia. Also note that not all these accommodation options apply to each school location. Should you have any questions please contact us.

Safety and feeling "at home" is critical, because learning is easier in a comfortable environment. Many of our programs offer a choice of accommodations, however many only offer one choice, it depends on which location you have selected.

Each school has an accommodation coordinator whose responsibility it is to find the right accommodation for our students and to ensure that they are happy in their new environment. Most of our accommodation is used exclusively by the school students, so if you choose the apartment option, you will be sharing with other international students studying at the same school with you.

In many cases we also offer a choice of staying in a private single room or sharing a twin double room with another student also studying at the school. The twin option is ideal for students traveling together or for those traveling on a budget, as they are slightly less expensive than a private room. If sharing with someone other than a friend, we try to ensure that the students are not from the same country, so they are forced to communicate in the language they are learning and will be of the same sex.

Some of our accommodation options provide meals on a daily basis (normally the host family option or hotel option). Depending on your location, meal options can include breakfast, breakfast and evening meal and in some cases breakfast, lunch and dinner. All apartment accommodations are self catering.

All our accommodation types are usually located within a maximum of 30 minutes traveling time to the school, however depending on the size of the city you are studying in, many of our accommodations are located within 5 - 20 minutes traveling time.

Each student will be given a key to their accommodation and will be able to come and go as they wish. If you are staying with other students or with a host family, you will have to observe some basic house rules such as cleanliness and tidying up after yourself.

NOTE: All accommodation options start on Sunday and end on Saturday. Your Sunday night's accommodation, before your classes start on the Monday, is included in the program price. Students are required to vacate accommodation on the Saturday at 12 noon, after your last day (Friday) on the course. Depending on availability, additional nights accommodation can be arranged for extra nights before OR after the course (for an additional cost).

HOST FAMILY OPTION:
This is our most popular option and choosing to live with a host family is probably the best and most effective way to become fully immersed into the language and culture of your chosen country.

All families are chosen after a careful selection procedure and are visited regularly by the school to ensure that high living standards are maintained. We also require that they live within a reasonable distance of the school, have ample living space and live in a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.

Our host families allow students access to all living areas in the house and in most cases; students will be expected to share the bathroom. All bed linens and pillows will be provided, however we suggest you bring your own towels. Your family could provide a laundry service, however in most cases they will allow you to use the laundry facilities for a small additional charge.

Your host family will always do their best to engage you in daily conversation while making you feel as though you are in a "home away from home". Remember your host family will have different customs and habits than perhaps you are accustomed to and meals will be prepared according to local custom. However you are not obligated to eat all your meals with the family, just please notify them when you will not be returning to eat..

Our families are diverse with young couples without children, couples with children (of all age groups) and older couples with grown children who are no longer at home. We always make an effort to match students to a host family with common interests, for example, if you like children, we will try and place you with a family that has children. We cannot guarantee we can place all our students in the type of family they are looking for, however we make every effort.

When enrolling on a program, we also ask if you have any special requests such as a none smoking family, special diet, allergies, etc. Many of our families provide a choice of private single room or shared twin bedroom depending on which location you have chosen and usually a choice of meals, breakfast only, 2 or 3 meals daily. (Please refer to the individual school location page for further details).

Staying in a family is a truly wonderful experience and many students make lifetime friends with their host family. However, you should also have realistic expectations. Your host family may not have the same comforts as your own home does, especially in some of the poorer countries around the world. You will be treated as a guest and free to come and go as you wish however you may be expected to obey house rules and may not be allowed to have friends visit.

APARTMENT OPTION
This is also a very popular option especially for those students looking for further independence.

Our apartments are normally located within the same distance as a host family or in a few cases we have apartments located on school campus. They are all shared with other international students studying at our schools and you will be sharing with many nationalities, probably between 2-5 students per apartment. Our apartments are co-ed, however rooms are shared with the same gender.

Most our apartments offer a choice of private or shared (twin) rooms, with shared equipped kitchen (including cooking utensils), bathroom and living areas. The apartments vary in size and number of bedrooms, depending on the location and at some schools we offer a choice of different categories of apartments. (Please refer to the individual school location page for further details).

Our apartments are self catering, which means meals are not included. Students provide their own groceries and prepare their own meals. In many cases the cooking becomes a social event in the apartment and a great way to chat and make new friends with your room mates. Many students have theme nights, where they take turns to prepare a meal from their home country for the rest of the students in the apartment.

For the duration of the stay in the apartment, you will be living among other students so you are expected to comply with the 'mutual' house rules. This means that common living areas must be kept clean and tidy at all times. All students have keys to the apartment and can come and go as they wish. All bed linens will be provided, however we suggest you bring your own towels. No laundry service is provided however laundry services are normally located within walking distance.

SCHOOL RESIDENCE OPTION
This option is limited to a few schools.

Living in a school residence is similar to staying in a hotel but is located in the school building, or on the school campus. Depending on location, most school residences offer a choice of either a private room or shared (twin) rooms, sometimes including a optional meal plan.

The rooms are similar to hotel rooms and do not provide kitchen facilities, the meals are provided in the school dining area or local cafeteria. (For more information on facilities provided, please refer to the individual school location page for further details).

For the duration of the stay in the residence, you will be living among other international students attending the same school. All students have keys to their rooms and can come and go as they wish. All bed linens will be provided, however we suggest you bring your own towels. No laundry service is provided however laundry services are normally located within walking distance.

HOTEL OPTION
If the above three options are not available at the school, we choose this option. (Limited to a few schools).

We normally select tourist class hotels depending on the location. Should you wish to stay in a upgraded hotel, we can arrange this and your required location. Usually we only offer the choice of private single room, usually with breakfast daily.

The rooms do not provide kitchen facilities and meals will be taken in the hotel restaurant or local restaurants. (For more information on facilities provided, please refer to the individual school location page for further details). All students have keys to their rooms and can come and go as they wish. All bed linens, pillows and towels will be provided. A laundry service is normally provided by the hotel for an additional charge.

Should you have any questions about any of the above accommodation options, please do not heistate to contact us.
